This Code of Conduct is designed to ensure events can be enjoyed by all participants.
CyberWest Hub hosts collaborative, inclusive and participatory events with a welcoming community spirit. All participants, sponsors, vendors, volunteers and guests who engage in a CyberWest led event or activity, both online and in person, must agree to abide by these community behaviours.
Acceptable Behaviour includes:
RESPECT: In all engagements and meetings, workshops, conferences and CyberWest Hub-related events, online and offline, mutual respect during any interaction is expected.
TRANSPARENCY: Be accountable for your actions, make ethical decisions and be honest in all your interactions.
COMMUNICATIONS: Be kind, courteous, and constructive. Be open to learning and listening to diverse opinions, thoughts and beliefs. Encourage open expression within a climate of sensitivity and mutual respect. Be inclusive in your communications and opportunities
PRIVACY: Respect and maintain the privacy of others and all requests to those who wish to remain anonymous. Ensure that confidential material and personal data is not shared without express permission under any circumstances.
SPEAK UP: If witnessed, all participants are responsible for respectfully discouraging unacceptable behaviour and/or reporting said behaviour to the CyberWest Hub or event team. You may also email the CyberWest team at [email protected]
Unacceptable Behaviour includes:
VIOLENCE: Making threats of violence or promoting violence, either directly or indirectly against others. Promoting violence against or directly attack or threaten other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or health status.
HARASSMENT: Inciting or engaging in the targeted abuse or harassment of others. Harassment can include offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
CONFIDENTIALITY: Publishing or posting other people’s private and confidential information outside of the information they have made public, including location and name, without their express authorisation and permission.

Consequences:
Participants asked to stop any unacceptable behavior are expected to comply immediately. Participants violating this Code of Conduct may be expelled from attending or participating in any future events that the WA Cyber Security Innovation Hub may host.
After a period of six months, if an expelled member wishes to rejoin the community, they may email administrators at in[email protected] with a rationale for why they should be readmitted to the community. Unanimous agreement from the Hub’s Industry Advisory Board will be required for re-admittance. Follow up questions may be asked.
