CyberConnect September Event & Leadership Farewell
Cyber Resilience in Education: A Strategic Imperative & A Leadership Legacy
Last Thursday’s Cyber Connect was a defining moment—bringing together timely insight and heartfelt transition.
We were honoured to host Prashant Singh (CISO), Cyber Security Manager at the WA Department of Education, who delivered a powerful session on:
🎓 Cyber Resilience in Education: Tackling Threats, Fortifying Defences, and Seizing Opportunities
📌 Key strategic insights:
- Education is now a prime target for cybercrime, with 7% of all cybercrime reports coming from the sector.
- The WA Department of Education is managing 1,100+ incidents monthly, ingesting 631 million security events daily—a scale that demands strategic foresight.
- The 4Rs (Robustness, Redundancy, Resourcefulness, Rapidity) and 4Ps (Planning, Practice, Proactive Detection, Partnerships) offer a practical roadmap for resilience.
- Cyber resilience is not just about defence—it’s about adaptability, recovery, and opportunity.
🙏 A sincere thank you to Prashant for bringing such a timely challenge to the forefront and sharing actionable insights that resonate across sectors. And thank you all who participated and brought such synergy to the discussions.
