Yesterday, CyberWest Hub convened key stakeholder groups at the Workpath Luncheon, hosted by Kersti Eesmaa and David Jam (Vertical Scope). This strategic session focused on aligning approaches that enable scalable outcomes, foster cross-sector innovation, and accelerate progress toward a secure and competitive digital economy. The conversations underscored the importance of partnerships in driving systemic change and creating pathways for sustainable growth.

What an incredible day at the National AI & Cybersecurity Leadership Summit, hosted by For Purpose Leaders and Dev Singh AUS! The event brought together a diverse audience of innovators, leaders, and curious minds eager to explore the security implications of AI adoption across sectors.

Our CyberWest Hub Industry Advisory Board Member, Peter Bouhlas, opened the first panel with powerful insights on how AI enables his team to focus on the most severe threats among the 20,000 attacks WA Government agencies face every week — reinforcing that cyber security is not just a safeguard but a critical enabler of AI innovation.

This month’s CyberConnect was a powerful evening of conversation on how quantum innovation is reshaping cyber security—and why preparing now matters.

CyberWest Hub was joined by quantum expert was Yasaman Samadi via live stream for an incredible presentation on post-quantum readiness and the practical steps organisations can take today. Yasaman’s insightful work highlighted the pathways WA organisations can use to transition securely and although preparing for Q-day is not urgent – it is important to get ready and form a plan.

Just wrapped up an incredible few days at CyberCon Melbourne, where the conversations were bold, urgent, and deeply human.From a national lens, National Cyber Security Coordinator - Lt Gen. Michelle McGuinness delivered a powerful reminder: our safety must span both the physical and digital realms. Her call for cyber practices to be distinctive and instinctive struck a chord — as did her vision for Australia to lead globally in cyber. The message was clear: cyber security is no longer optional — it’s essential.

From NASA to office of defence industry and even an opportunity to meeting Katherine Bennell-Pegg, Australia first female trained astronaut.. the event was not short of excitement and inspiration!

, we are honoured to have our Students of Cyber (SoC) by CyberWest Hub October series in partnership with RSM Australia, as part of our Cyber Awareness Month programming. The session opened with Bavani Chetty, Senior Manager at RSM, who shared a compelling overview of RSM’s work and impact in the cyber space. This was followed by inspiring career journeys from the RSM team — Kaylan Naicker , Joel Vermeulen, Suné Skinner, and Dale Carter — who offered students a real-world look into the diverse pathways available in cyber.
