CyberConnect November Event with Quantum Australia

CyberConnect: Preparing for a Quantum Future

This month’s CyberConnect delivered a powerful discussion on how quantum innovation is reshaping cyber security — and why preparing now matters.

CyberWest Hub was joined by quantum expert Yasaman Samadi via live stream for an insightful presentation on post-quantum readiness and the practical steps organisations can take today. Yasaman’s work highlighted clear pathways for WA organisations to transition securely. While Q-Day may not be imminent, the message was clear: planning ahead is essential to ensure resilience in a quantum-driven future.

A huge thank you to Yasaman Samadi for sharing her expertise and to Prashant Singh (CISO) for coordinating her participation and moderating a lively and thought-provoking discussion. It was fantastic to see WA’s cyber community come together to explore this emerging challenge.

We also appreciated hearing from Daniela (Danka) Hundzova about Quantum Australia and the role WA can play in the national quantum ecosystem — supported by federal and state funding for researchers and entrepreneurs driving innovation in this space.
