CyberQueens β A Celebration of Connection and Empowerment
Last Friday, we had the privilege of co-hosting the CyberQueens event at North Metropolitan TAFE in collaboration with CyberWest Hub and Students of Cyber (SoC) by CyberWest Hub. The event brought together an inspiring mix of women and non-binary cyber students from across various institutions and cyber industry, united by a shared passion for cybersecurity and community.
The session began with Emma O'Neil, who set the tone by highlighting the importance of being part of a community that builds and uplifts. Her message resonated deeply, reminding us that connection is at the heart of growth in the cyber space. Following this, Maree Tabb provided an insightful overview of the course and career pathways available in cybersecurity, helping students envision their future and navigate the opportunities ahead.
We were then moved by Caitriona Forde, who shared her personal journey into cybersecurity. Her story was honest, inspiring, and a powerful reminder of the diverse paths that lead into this dynamic field. The event concluded with engaging group discussions between students and industry professionals, sparking meaningful conversations, mentorship, and new connections.
CyberQueens is more than an eventβitβs a movement to foster belonging, build networks, and uplift the next generation of cyber talent. Weβre proud to support initiatives that create inclusive spaces and meaningful opportunities in the tech sector.
π¬ Huge thanks to all the students, speakers, and industry partners who made this event a success. Weβre already looking forward to the next one!
