Talk Cyber Win Deals: Explaining Tech to Drive Business Outcomes

Translating Tech into Business Value: Cyber and AI in Focus

Yesterday, CyberWest Hub proudly contributed to two high-impact events designed to empower cyber businesses and SMEs with the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions about emerging technologies — and translate technical capability into tangible business outcomes.

The day kicked off with Talk Cyber, Win Deals – Cyber Business Workshop, part of our ongoing series focused on helping cyber businesses sharpen their messaging, strengthen sales strategies, and elevate marketing approaches to drive sustainable growth.

Expertly led by Jeff Barnes (Rare Air Sales), the full-day workshop delivered practical, business-focused exercises that equipped participants to:

  • Articulate their value proposition to non-technical clients

  • Identify and understand their target audience

  • Analyse competitors and marketing strategies

  • Refine communication for clarity and impact

  • Build a personalised, data-driven sales strategy ready for immediate implementation

The energy in the room was palpable, with WA’s cyber and startup community actively engaging in discussions and exercises. Participants included MaltIQ, Intaris, Cyber Node, Blue Bricks, NMCYBER, and Ben Aylett, all contributing to a dynamic exchange of ideas and best practices.

As Matt Breuillac from CyberNode shared:
“Tech minds and sales strategy don’t usually share the same room... but today they did! The workshop helped us sharpen our approach to selling cybersecurity services. Plenty of ‘aha’ moments and takeaways we can put to work right away!”

At CyberWest Hub, we believe that bridging the gap between technical expertise and business strategy is critical to building a thriving cyber ecosystem. By equipping businesses with the tools to communicate value and scale effectively, we’re helping WA’s cyber sector grow stronger, more competitive, and future-ready.
