In this Cyber Connect working session, we'll challenge the conventional wisdom about cyber safety and behaviour change. Drawing on emerging research and real-world experience, you'll collaborate with leaders across industries to unpack what actually moves people from understanding to action, especially as threats become more sophisticated and more human.

This isn't a technical session. It's a conversation for anyone building cyber resilience and frustrated that training and awareness aren't delivering.

Facilitator

Caitriona Forde is an award-winning cyber safety expert and founder of caIT Cyber Safe with over 20 years of experience helping organisations build security cultures that work. She holds a Master of Cyber Security from Edith Cowan University and is currently pursuing a PhD in human factors in cyber safety at Murdoch University, researching how to transform awareness into sustained behavioural change. Co-host of the West Coast Cyber podcast, Caitriona has delivered keynotes at major international conferences and is known for making complex cyber concepts accessible.

CyberWest Hub is proud to offer a dedicated cyber safety workshop tailored for senior citizens, led by local expert Caitriona Forde from West Coast Cyber. This session is designed to empower older Australians with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the digital world safely.

Ideal for individuals with limited technology experience, the workshop provides practical guidance on recognising and avoiding online scams, with a focus on real-world examples and hands-on learning.

CyberThrive and CyberQueens

This CyberQueens Networking Event is designed to bring together emerging and established talent across the cyber industry to celebrate connection, community, and career growth.

About the Event

The evening will feature a short talk from Vannessa Van Beek, a WiTWA Award Winner and Senior Cyber Leader, followed by an interactive networking session.

Attendees will also hear about Cyber CX Cyber5050, another BWC initiative.

After the talk, attendees will take part in small rotating discussion groups (similar to speed networking), creating an opportunity to connect directly with industry professionals and peers in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Whether you are studying cyber, exploring the field, or already working in the industry, this event is a great opportunity to build connections, learn from others in the field, and expand your professional network.
