Last week, we marked Scam Awareness Week by sharing real stories from our community—none more powerful than Tess’s. If you haven’t heard Tess’s story yet, here’s a snippet:

As we celebrate Scam Awareness Week, we’re reminded of the importance of staying alert to scams and protecting our communities. At CyberWest Hub, we’re proud to support this initiative as part of our mission to help Western Australians build digital confidence and stay safe online. Through education, community programs, and partnerships, we make cybersecurity accessible and practical for everyone.

On Tuesday, 22 July, the Mannings Senior Citizen Centre hosted a highly successful 'Scam and Scones ' event, a testament to the community's active participation and the organizers' dedication. The event, which welcomed 48 attendees for an afternoon of learning, conversation, and community connection, was proudly delivered by CyberWest Hub. Expert trainer Caitriona Forde led an engaging and informative discussion on how to identify and avoid common scams targeting seniors, further adding to the event's success.
