Last Friday, we had the privilege of co-hosting the CyberQueens event at North Metropolitan TAFE in collaboration with CyberWest Hub and Students of Cyber (SoC) by CyberWest Hub. The event brought together an inspiring mix of women and non-binary cyber students from across various institutions and cyber industry, united by a shared passion for cybersecurity and community.

On Tuesday, 22 July, the Mannings Senior Citizen Centre hosted a highly successful 'Scam and Scones ' event, a testament to the community's active participation and the organizers' dedication. The event, which welcomed 48 attendees for an afternoon of learning, conversation, and community connection, was proudly delivered by CyberWest Hub. Expert trainer Caitriona Forde led an engaging and informative discussion on how to identify and avoid common scams targeting seniors, further adding to the event's success.

CyberWest Hub co-hosted another impactful CyberConnect session with the Food Innovation Team of the Department of Primary Industries & Regional Development (DPIRD), this time uniquely focusing on the intersection of #cybersecurity, #foodinnovation, and the #coldsupplychain, with a special emphasis on protecting temperature-sensitive supply chains.

CyberWest Summit 2025: Where Strategy Meets Innovation

It’s been one week since CWS2025 — and the momentum is still going strong. Over two transformative days, we didn’t just discuss the future of cybersecurity — we helped shape it.

With more than 400 passionate attendees, including international delegates from the Philippines and India, this year’s summit brought together a powerful cross-section of leaders from government, industry, academia, and startups. United by a shared mission: to future-proof our business and secure our digital future.

In a major step forward for Western Australia’s digital future, CyberWest Hub officially launched the WA Cyber Capability Directory and the Cyber Education Directory at the CyberWest Summit 2025—the state’s premier cybersecurity awareness and innovation event.

We’re proud to share that Chris Leong, our Project and Engagement Lead at CyberWest Hub, will be engaged as a mentor for the #BandwithAmplify program by Creative Tech Village.

This engagement reflects CyberWest Hub’s commitment not only to advancing cyber capabilities but also to empowering startups and entrepreneurs through strategic collaboration with our sister innovation hubs.

We were thrilled to host Vikram Sareen and Blue Bricks, who tackled some of our tertiary institution's most pressing cybersecurity challenges.

We were thrilled to welcome Jesse Gane from Adisyn (ASX:AI1) who delivered an engaging and through provoking session that left a lasting impression.

Jesse brought a wealth of industry insight, sharing his journey through the cybersecurity landscape and offering practical advice for students and early-career professionals. His talk sparked lively discussion, constant Q&A, and moments of real reflection among attendees. Students were eager to explore pathways into cyber and how to navigate them with purpose.

We just wrapped up our April event in collaboration with REA Group. This month, we tackled a hot topic: "How can we prevent bots from scraping our public website without negatively impacting the experience of unauthenticated users?"

CyberWest Hub was proud to support the Business News Security and Resilience Sector Briefing this week, exploring this topic with the business community. The panel discussion was insightful, exploring the geopolitical context of cyber risk, as well as highlighting that most cybercrime is opportunistic - basic security measures are critical.

We had an incredible session at Students of Cyber (SoC) April event hosted by PwC Australia. A big shout-out to Duncan Alderson and his ever-so-generous team for sharing their invaluable insights and experiences with our student cohort.

What an incredible afternoon at our very first CyberQueens event! Co-hosted by CyberWest Hub, Students of Cyber (SoC) by CyberWest Hub, and North Metropolitan TAFE, the session was brimming with inspiration as students across different universities and TAFE came together and engaged with cyber industry professionals.
